Attempted Residential Burglary – Community Safety Alert

Dear Resident,

We are writing to inform you of an attempted burglary at a residential property on Melrose Avenue. The offenders attempted to gain entry by forcibly smashing the rear French doors. The offenders were possibly disturbed during the incident and fled the property via the back fence, which provides access to the adjacent grassed playing area.

Please take the following crime prevention and safeguarding measures:

Secure all entry points: Ensure all doors and windows are locked and fitted with robust security features. Consider upgrading to anti-snap locks and reinforced door panels.

Install additional security measures: Door and window alarms, security film for glass, and CCTV or video doorbells can act as strong deterrents.

Maintain visibility: Keep gardens and access points well-lit and remove any obstructions that could provide cover for offenders.

Report suspicious activity immediately: Dial 999 in an emergency or 101 for non-emergency concerns.

Share any relevant CCTV or doorbell footage: If you have recordings that may assist the investigation, please contact your local policing team.
